EMAC

The Energy Modeling, Analysis, and Control (EMAC) group is based at the University of California, Berkeley. We work on the engineering, techno-economic, and social challenges to decarbonizing electric power systems. Our research focuses on building new control and optimization frameworks to facilitate the operation of low-carbon grids, as well as energy systems analysis to understand future decarbonization pathways. We frequently collaborate with researchers at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and other academic institutions. EMAC alumni have gone into consulting, the private sector, government research, and academia.
